Glute Ham Raises

  • We always tell them to keep their shoulders, hips, & knees in a straight line all the way through the movement.
  • In the early stages, it helps to have a partner devoted to assisting the person in getting up off the floor. Just have them provide a little nudge in the push off the floor.

Supermans

  • We'd like them to work on holding their arms and legs up off the ground for a 5-10 count on each rep.

Squats

  • We are working on having a base that is about hip width since that is where their feet will be when they jump, cut, etc., so that will allow them to transfer that strength onto the playing surface.
  • Knees over top of the ankles and to a depth of parallel: femur parallel to the floor.
  • For athletes with flexibility issues, they just need to get as deep as they can with proper form and over time work to get deeper.

Split Squat

  • Perform all reps on one leg before switching.
  • Femur parallel to the floor.

Lunges
