Crystal Lake South's Jack Becker finished first and Richmond-Burton placed second Saturday at Grant's James Taylor Boys Cross Country Invitational at Camp Henry Horner in Ingleside.

 

Becker ran the 3-mile course in 15:39.28, more than 29 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Zion-Benton won the meet with 60 points, R-B was second with 73 points, and South (96) was third. Woodstock was sixth and Marengo was eighth.

Richmond-Burton's Ryan Hommowun finished fifth with a time of 16:27.88, while Nick Koschak was 12th and Chris Williams was 20th for the Rockets. Johnsburg's Tim Bertulis finished sixth.

For South, Jon Prus was seventh and Ryan Foster was ninth. Marian Central's Ryan Jones took 11th, and Marengo's Alex Leonard was 15th.

R-B's Nick DeGroot was 22nd, and Woodstock was led by Jarod Baker (27th).

 

Grant James Taylor Invitational: At Camp Henry Horner in Ingleside, Marian Central's Abigail Jones placed third and Woodstock took second. Grant's Danielle Osmon won in 18:53.26, and Jones was third at 19:22.88.

Grant had three of the top five times and won the meet with 40 points, Woodstock was second with 77 points, and Marian Central (103) was third. Johnsburg was ninth and Marengo was 10th.

 

Kate Jacobs finished sixth, Kylie Hagmann was eighth and Shannon Koscinski was 10th for the Blue Streaks, while Shelby Truckenbrod took seventh and Siobhan Stoll was 12th for the Hurricanes.

Emma Langlois was ninth, Breanne Retherford was 14th, and Amy Frisch was 17th for Richmond-Burton, Marengo's Hannah Secor was 15th, and Sam Schmitt (20th) led Johnsburg.
