High school boys cross country: Hommowun and Koschak lead Richmond-Burton to victory
Ryan Hommowun and Nick Koschak finished first and second respectively to lead Richmond-Burton to a team win at the Burlington Central Invite on Tuesday. The Rockets took five of the top 10 spots.
Hommowun won the race with a time of 16:40.84, 21 seconds ahead of his teammate Koschak, who finished in 17:02.10. Also finishing in the top 10 for the Rockets was John Kellum in sixth (17:19.73), Chris Williams in ninth (17:32.17) and Nicholas Degroot in 10th (17:39.10).
Hampshire's Jacob Oury finished third with a time of 17:12.13, helping the Whip-Purs to a third-place team finish behind R-B and Burlington Central. Hampshire's William Matushek finished seventh (17:28.80), Jeremy Horn took 11th (17:49.26) and Kyle Blake finished 14th (18:02.39).
Woodstock North finished fourth overall, led by a 12th place finish from Aidan Filetti (17:53.19) and a 15th place finish from Brandon Amann (18:05.94).

Hampshire's Sophia Oury and Marie Mayer finished first (19:23.54) and second (19:35.17) at the Burlington Central Invite on Tuesday, but it was Richmond-Burton that took team title after sweeping places three through six.
Richmond-Burton's Emma Langlois finished third (19:55.98), Amy Frisch took fourth (20:21.95), Breanne Retherford took fifth (20:41.90) and Gabby Ross finished sixth (20:53.63).
Hampshire, led by Oury and Mayer, finished second. Shayla Sotelo placed 14th overall (22:58.88), Alexis Nguyen finished 20th (24:17.84) and Magdalena Vonic finished 26th (25:04.12).
Woodstock North's Abby Hartmann finished 11th with a time of 21:53.16, followed by teammate Amanda Valdes-Garcia in 12th with a time of 22:24.96. Woodstock North's Madison Miller came in 21st with a time of 24:22.85.
Burlington Central took third, Genoa-Kingston came in fourth and Larkin finished fifth overall.
