Crystal Lake South's Jack Becker won his third straight meet, and Cary-Grove finished third in the Wauconda Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda.
Becker, who also won the McHenry County Meet and the Crystal Lake South Invitational, finished the 3.1-mile course in 15:29 to lead the Gators to sixth. C-G's Alex Ratkovich was runner-up at 15:33.9.
Wheaton Warrenville South won the 24-team meet with 77 points, C-G was third with 153 points, Crystal Lake South (198) took sixth, and Crystal Lake Central (228) finished ninth.
The Tigers were led by Weston Sterchi, who placed third at 15:37.5. Crystal Lake South's Jon Prus was seventh, McHenry's Jacob DeWitt was 19th, and C-G's Kyle Adams was 20th. Central's Brandon Tomasello took 25th, and Richmond-Burton's Nick Koschak was 36th.
Central's Cole Barkocy did not compete because he was taking the ACT.

The girls team finished well with 4 of the top five runners present. Medaling for the girls was Emma Langlois followed by Breanne Retherford, Amy Frish, Gabby Ross, and Audry Orkild.
