High school boys track and field: Richmond-Burton wins KRC quadrangular

Marshall Reed won the long and triple jumps as Richmond-Burton scored 100 1/2 points to win a four-team Kishwaukee River Conference meet at R-B Athletic Complex Tuesday.

Sophomore Mike Kaufman won the 100 meters and anchored R-B’s winning 4x100 relay team, along with Joe Tasker, Jack Langlois and James Horner. The Rockets also got individual wins from John Kellum (800), Ryan Hommowun (3,200), Nick DeGroot (400) and Nick Koschak (1,600).

Woodstock North was second with 63 points, Harvard had 58 and Marengo had 43 1/2.

North’s Matt Haynes leaped 6-4 to win the high jump. The Thunder also got wins from Josh Powell (shot put) and Joe Grover (300 intermediate hurdles).

Harvard’s Brandon Roberts won the discus and Marengo got firsts from Finn Schirmer (110 high hurdles) and Jacob Vallee (200).
