1. The Rockets have made the playoffs 10 consecutive seasons, the second-longest string of any area team to Cary-Grove’s 13.
2. R-B’s playoff string almost ended in the 2013 season when it finished with 36 playoff points and was the last of 256 teams to receive a playoff berth.
3. Junior Jimmy Horner was one of the top sophomores on an 8-1 team last year and will play running back and linebacker. “Hopefully I can average eight or 10 tackles on defense and contribute that way,” he said.
4. RB Shane Byrne and TE Jake Rupnik are the returning starters on offense. The Rockets are young up front and will lean on senior Andy Myland and junior Josh Dumont to lead the offensive line.
5. The defense has a good core to build around with Byrne, Mike Kaufman, Matt Kortan and Ben Orklid all coming back as starters at linebacker. (NWHerald 8/11/17)
